Yes, It’s Great Date Wednesday!

Giddy up daters…it’s Wednesday. Time to start planning your dates for this coming weekend.

So, what amazing dating odyssey will you be organizing for your beloved this weekend?

Here’s this week’s idea:

We are coming up on Thanksgiving…so how about being thankful for all that you have by giving back to others who don’t have as much?  Yes, I’m talking about a volunteering date!

You could:

  • Participate in a community clean up
  • Serve at a local soup kitchen
  • Collect cans or fresh food for a local food bank
  • Work on building a house for someone in need
  • Vist with the elderly at a nursing home or hospital

Not sure how to find ways to get involved? Check out VolunteerMatch, Habitat for Humanity, Do Something or Serve.gov.

I’d like to hear your stories for the best date you’ve ever had…

What did you do? Where did you go? What exactly made it great? Do tell…

13 years ago… I was house sitting in this great apartment in most posh area of town, it was a mansion converted to apartments, like something you’d see in Paris, and the interior was just as wmponderful. My bf and i worked at the same hotel and it was nearby the apartment, i gave him the keys as he was getting off work about an hour or so sooner than me and we agreed to meet there and spend the evening together. When i got there he had brought a few candles and had them lit, and some wine, cheese and bread, on a platter, and a gift for me (I think it was a lava lamp, as i had wanted one back then) with a card that said “I love you, you’re so cool.” It was so simple but one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. I was touched, and so happy then.
I’m getting misty thinking about it.
